Maximus is seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Assessment Coordinator with a Master's level Qualified Mental Health license to assist with two of our programs. They will perform the South Dakota Level 2 PASRR assessments and develop clear, thorough summaries to determine nursing home placement eligibility. This role will also support the North Dakota Children's Treatment Services Level of Care program by reviewing medical records and interview findings, scoring the CANS assessment, and writing extensive individualized outcome reports.

The position requires a license in South Dakota, or candidates must be willing to obtain South Dakota endorsement.

About this program:

South Dakota Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)

Maximus has been contracted to review all Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) positive Level I screens for all individuals who are applying to or residing in Medicaid-certified nursing homes and complete Level II evaluations for individuals confirmed or suspected to have mental illness.

North Dakota Children's Treatment Services Level of Care Determinations

Maximus has been contracted by the state of North Dakota's Health and Human Services (HHS) to implement and manage its Children's Treatment Services Level of Care (LOC) Determinations. The role of Maximus in this partnership is to determine the use of residential and enhanced foster care services for eligible children and youth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Review requests for services including admission, discharges and continued stays for adherence to clinical criteria, state and federal policy, and related requirements.

- Issue approvals, denials or recommendations based on contract requirements.

- Identify need for additional clinical documentation or consultation.

- Complete documentation of activities within contract systems.

- Communicate with providers, individuals and their designees, or state workers as required.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Responsible for reviewing documentation and/or assessments and applying clinical criteria to complete determinations, approvals or recommendations.

Minimum Requirements

**********Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree required
- Current LCSW or LMSW with license valid in the state of practice is required
- Education and licensure requirements are based on program contract requirements and are outlined in job posting

- Masters Degree

- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credentials, such as Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Psychiatrist, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

- Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health settings

- Minimum 2 years' experience working with the elderly or older adult population

- 4 years experience in child welfare, including work in clinical settings with children, providing direct services, therapy, foster care, adoptive care, treatment planning, or case management

- Knowledge and understanding of medical and/or behavioral health diagnoses and prescribed medications

- Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work independently and meet timelines

- Must become Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) certified within 2 weeks of hire.

Preferred Requirement

- Licensed QMHP in the state of South Dakota

-Preferred knowledge may include community support programs, long-term care assessment and level of care in medical, behavioral health or related programs
