Control Panel Designer
Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in engineering principles and demonstrate proficiency in various technical skills. This role requires creativity, analytical thinking, and effective problem-solving abilities to support control panel design efforts.
Requirements:
- Provide electrical CAD design support for the Engineering Department for control cabinet projects
- Transform initial concepts and rough sketches into fully detailed production ready submittal drawings
- Lead efforts to standardize control panel designs and improve internal design processes and best practices
- Design control panels and backplanes in accordance with BOM & UL 508A standards
- Collaborate effectively within cross functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all deliverables within assigned responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive component library including component blocks, standard drawings, templates and other design assets
- Skilled in electrical component selection (breakers, relays, terminals, wire types etc.) based on application requirements, load calculations and industry standards
MUST HAVE:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in control panel design, layout and documentation
- Proficient in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical; experience with other CAD platforms such as Zuken, EPLAN is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of UL508A standards and control panel compliance requirements
- Strong ability to read, interpret and troubleshoot wiring diagrams, schematics and electrical diagrams
Education Requirements:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering of related field (or equivalent experience)
