Shipping Supervisor

Summary

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Shipping Supervisor to lead a team of hourly employees and ensure that all finished products are shipped accurately and on time. This role oversees daily shipping operations, maintains tracking and documentation, and supports smooth coordination between warehouse functions and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Make sure each pallet leaving the facility is clearly labeled with correct dates and product condition.
• Oversee the efficient shipment, distribution, and receipt of products, parts, and supplies.
• Verify all shipment records are accurate, including bill of lading and all required documentation.
• Work closely with production, sales, purchasing, and records control teams to ensure warehouse activities stay aligned with business needs.
• Prepare, review, and maintain distribution and inventory documents.
• Hire, train, and assign work to warehouse staff as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized dry storage, shipping dock, and box cooler areas, while ensuring strong product knowledge among employees.
• Keep accurate records of all inventory levels and locations to support production control and cost accounting.
• Inspect outgoing and incoming trailers for cleanliness, temperature, structural condition, and load integrity. Confirm seal placement and apply new seals as required.
• Monitor cooler inventory to ensure proper rotation of aged product before shipping.
• Coordinate forklift operators, hand jack operators, and utility staff across the dock, pack-off area, box cooler, and production floor.
• Ensure all employees follow plant safety rules and OSHA guidelines.
• May occasionally require availability outside normal business hours.

Required Skills

1. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
2. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a customer service mindset.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of shipping experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

Travel

• Up to 10 percent travel may be required.

Work Schedule

Rotating Swing Shift:
7 day shifts -> 5 days off -> 7 night shifts -> 2 days off -> repeat.

Benefits

Annual Base Salary: $50,000 - $80,000
