Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Location: District-wide, Jefferson County, Georgia
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 20252026 school year, serving multiple schools across the district. This role primarily focuses on providing therapy services to elementary students, along with older students in self-contained classrooms. The caseload may include up to 55 students in compliance with state guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy aligned with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and state/federal regulations
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in K-12 students
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to enhance student communication outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, offering professional insight
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports on student performance
- Facilitate generalization of communication skills across various settings
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Georgia SLP licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows with strong pediatric background encouraged to apply
- Prior experience in school-based therapy preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills essential
- Ability to manage caseload across multiple school sites within the district
