Senior Quality Management Specialist

Summary/Objective

The Senior QMS Specialist is responsible for supporting a myriad of Quality & Food Safety initiatives. The QMS Specialist promotes Doehler Dry Ingredients Solutions (DDIS) and Doehler Juice Solution (DJS) Programs, conducts internal and supplier audits, oversees Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) tracking and works on special projects.

Essential Functions

1. Contribute to DDIS and DJS Quality Management System.
2. Conduct internal and supplier audits.
3. Assist with CAPA for plant non-conformance sources.
4. Manage customer and vendor complaints.
5. Conduct trending analysis of internal audit non-conformances and other metrics.
6. Organize quality files and documentation.
7. Manage HACCP & FSMA for DDIS and DJS.
8. Lead the FSVP program.
9. Support customer requests as far as evaluation, capability analysis and integration.
10. Assist in Document Control processes and maintaining the Master Document Database.
11. Perform Manufacturing Record Review to ensure conformance to CCPs and product release.
12. Lead Product Traceability exercises.
13. Assist the plant in writing and approving procedures.
14. Participate in QM related meetings and trainings.
15. Manage customer and supplier notifications.
16. Manage customer quality requirements and relationships.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid and cold temperatures.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is often required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with typical office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours and days can vary depending on project needs.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field.
2. 5+ years’ experience in Food & Beverage industry.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
4. 5 years’ experience working with quality systems (corrective and preventative action, document control, auditing) in a manufacturing environment
5. 5 year experience working with ISO, BRC, GFSI on FSSC.
6. Experience in internal auditing.
7. Excellent communications, writing and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

1. SAP experience.
2. 1 year of experience in a laboratory environment.
