Assembly Technician
Assembly Technician (MSC)
The Assembly Tech assembles various products across the production line. This is achieved through identifying components, cutting raw materials, checking the quality of assemblies, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Use tools to make, repair, and assemble parts and products.
- Interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal and written instructions.
- Cut raw materials needed for completion of the job.
- Skills necessary for measurement correction to obtain necessary parts to meet specifications.
- Follow directions given to work as a team.
- Have full knowledge of all PPE gear required by MJC for the department.
- Identify necessary components needed for completion of the job.
- Assemble various products, per training guidelines.
- Complete each job by finishing with an internal inspection of the assembly.
- Maintain a SAFE and CLEAN working environment.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read job travelers and check significant components.
- Ability to operate essential hand tools (i.e., hammer, screwdriver, pliers, drill, etc.).
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to identify parts and build from prints provided.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to read a tape measure and use the decimal system.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks while remaining stationary for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This job operates in a professional manufacturing plant environment. You may be exposed to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility. Proper PPE is provided if required and must be utilized. If it is not needed, the right PPE gear is available should you want to use it.
An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary for extended periods; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
