Project Superintendent
Position Overview:
As a Superintendent for a 3 building multi-family garden style project covering 30 months, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process from start to finish. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, particularly in the areas of senior living, affordable housing, and multi-family projects. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Superintendent and a proven track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget. The Superintendent will also provide guidance and support to the construction team, ensuring the project is completed to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the construction process, from pre-construction to project completion
- Coordinate with project team members, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure project goals and timelines are met
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to stay on track with schedule and budget
- Manage and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and project schedule
- Ensure all subcontractors are working in a safe and efficient manner
- Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders to provide project updates and address any concerns
- Lead and mentor on-site construction team members, including Assistant Superintendents and subcontractors
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is completed to company and client standards
- Attend project meetings and provide regular progress reports to upper management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry
- Experience with ground-up construction projects, particularly in senior living, affordable housing, or multi-family
- Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office suite
