Information Technology Coordinator provides direct support to students, faculty, and staff in maintaining a stable, secure, and equitable digital learning environment. Working in close partnership with the Technology Manager, this role ensures the seamless operation of all instructional and administrative technologies across the Kindezi network
Reports To: Technology Manager
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Support & User Experience
- Provide prompt, professional on-site and remote technical support for students, educators, and administrative staff across all campuses
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues across a range of devices, including Chromebooks, Windows desktops/laptops, Promethean Boards, printers, document cameras, and other classroom technologies
- Serve as the primary support contact for assigned campuses, ensuring consistent user experience, responsiveness, and proactive communication
Device Management & Asset Lifecycle
- Support the provisioning, deployment, inventory, maintenance, and collection of school-owned devices across the network
- Utilize asset management systems to ensure accuracy of device tracking, warranty information, and condition reports
- Assist in coordinating and executing device refresh plans and annual technology rollouts
Instructional Technology Enablement
- Install, configure, and maintain instructional software, digital assessment platforms, and assistive technologies aligned with curriculum goals
- Provide just-in-time training and support to educators integrating technology into instruction
- Collaborate with Media Tech Aides and instructional staff to ensure classrooms are technology-ready and conducive to 21st-century learning
Infrastructure & Systems Administration Support
- Assist in basic network support tasks, including ensuring stable wireless connectivity, monitoring classroom network equipment, and identifying local outages
- Support maintenance of audiovisual and multimedia equipment to ensure functionality for instruction and events
- Administer student and staff accounts within Google Workspace for Education, including account creation, access troubleshooting, and permissions
Operational Excellence & Documentation
- Monitor and respond to Helpdesk tickets within established service-level expectations
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on troubleshooting procedures, common fixes, and site-specific protocols
- Conduct technology audits at campuses to ensure compliance with network standards and data privacy protocols
Cybersecurity & Data Privacy
- Support compliance with federal and state data protection regulations (e.g., FERPA, COPPA, CIPA.
- Adhere to cybersecurity best practices, including regular updates, password management, and device encryption
- Immediately escalate any potential data breaches or cyber incidents to the Technology Manager
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as a mentor and provide on-the-job technical support for Media Tech Aides.
- Act as a liaison between school sites and the central technology team to ensure that emerging needs and site-specific challenges are addressed.
- Support technology needs for professional development days, family events, and schoolwide testing environments.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, educational software, and IT service delivery models
- Proactively recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency, user satisfaction, and technology equity
- Participate in ongoing training to support evolving school technology goals

- Minimum 1–2 years of experience providing IT support in a service-oriented environment (Experience in K–12 school IT operations preferred)
- Familiarity with student information systems (SIS) and digital assessment platforms
- Understanding of equitable access to technology and digital inclusion practices
- Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s degree in IT-related discipline or ongoing pursuit of industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+/Network+, Google IT Support, JAMF, etc. preferred)
- Be a United States citizen or otherwise have authorization to work in the United States
- Must have or be able to obtain a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-issued clearance certificate
- Have the ability to pass an Atlanta Public Schools background check
- Travel between multiple Kindezi campuses on a regular basis; reliable transportation required.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for school events or system maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and move technology equipment as needed
- Demonstrated proficiency in supporting:
- Windows OS and Chrome OS
- Google Workspace for Education
- Device management tools (e.g., Google Admin Console, GoGuardian, Destiny)
- Classroom technologies such as Promethean Boards, projectors, and printers
- Familiarity with student information systems (SIS) and digital assessment platforms
- Understanding of equitable access to technology and digital inclusion practices
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
- Salary: $50,875
- Compensation aligned with The Kindezi Schools’ Coordinator salary schedule
- Teacher Retirement System (TRS) pension, 403b plan, paid time off, vacation, health, vision, and dental insurance, employer-paid life insurance, and short and long-term disability benefits.
