Alma Domestic Violence Foundation ( is a nationally recognized, human services organization committed to "Educate Empower and Celebrate survivors of domestic violence and help them achieve economic and self-sufficiency". Our vision is to aid in the eradication of domestic violence globally and enlighten the public about its effects. Founded in 2005, the foundation is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and serves thousands of victims at 64 facilities across the state. Across the country, we support shelters and work with victims of domestic violence (women, men and children) currently residing in shelters and those in transition. Alma is a safe haven for all--ready to save and assist in the rebuilding process to ensure victims can be survivors.

Make a difference as a Senior Director of Operations

As the Senior Director of Operations at Alma Domestic Violence Foundation , you will play a pivotal role in executing the strategic vision alongside the CEO, operationalizing annual goals, and managing budgets and staffing models. Your leadership will guide cross-functional teams through change management and internal communications to align with priorities while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture rooted in trauma-informed care, equity, and accountability. You will oversee the daily operations of crucial services including shelter, case management, and advocacy, ensuring adherence to standards and crisis response protocols that prioritize survivor safety and privacy.

Compliance with regulatory standards will be paramount, as you lead audits and maintain policies. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Finance and Development to manage budgeting, procurement, and grant deliverables while supporting workforce planning and talent development to enhance staff wellness and performance. Your commitment to data-driven decision-making will drive continuous improvement, optimizing service delivery for those we serve.

To excel as the Senior Director of Operations at Alma Domestic Violence Foundation, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, along with 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit or human services, particularly in multi-site or shelter operations. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in compliance and audits, demonstrating proficiency with regulations like FVPSA and HUD, as well as expertise in policy development and risk management. Strong financial acumen is essential for managing budgets, procurement, and grant implementation. Effective people leadership skills are required, including coaching managers, building cohesive teams, and navigating organizational change.

A commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and culturally responsive practices is crucial. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, experience in relevant fields such as domestic violence or homelessness, familiarity with HMIS/CRM systems, and bilingual proficiency, along with a valid driver's license for site travel.
