Department Information This position is part of the College of Sciences and reports directly to the Dean. The College of Sciences cultivates curiosity, encourages exploration, and fosters innovation to develop scientific solutions for a better world. Our connected community of scientists and mathematicians collaborates across disciplines and challenges to achieve excellence in science, teaching, and research. Working across six internationally ranked schools with the brightest young minds in our fields, we mentor future leaders to identify and push the frontiers of human knowledge, imagination, and innovation. This position will support alumni relations within the College to further foster the science community. The director will work with College leadership, development professionals, and the Alumni Association to create strategic initiatives and programs that provide opportunities for College of Sciences alumni to engage with each other and the College through time and treasure. The Director of Alumni Relations responsibilities include the following: The director will work with College leadership, development professionals, and the Alumni Association to create strategic initiatives and programs that provide opportunities for College of Sciences alumni to engage with each other and the College through time and treasure. The Director of Alumni Relations responsibilities include the following:
- In partnership with Development staff, coordinate College-specific regional meetings and key events designed to bring together alumni, faculty, and staff around social, professional, or academic activities
- Work with the Colleges Communications and program offices to develop and coordinate relevant communication content and channels with alumni.
- Work in collaboration with the Colleges Career Educator on events for alumni and corporate partners to engage with current students around career opportunities.
- Partner with Colleges Development to identify alumni as prospective annual fund and/or major donors.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Georgia Tech Alumni Association regarding College-specific programs, initiatives, and outreach.
- Work with the dean and the College development staff in support of the Colleges Advisory Board and various volunteer alumni groups at the College and coordinate their activities across units.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Summary
Plan, coordinate and implement routine and/or complex Alumni activities. Such programs include maintaining alumni databases, alumni groups and club liaison, awards, volunteerism, on-line services and publications and related communication media. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Institute and corporate executives, Institute alumni and friends; department staff This position typically will advise and counsel: Institute and corporate executives, Institute alumni and friends. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Coordinate activities (club meetings, parties, tours, special events, career fairs, reunions, etc.) aimed at promoting good relations with and among alumni Job Duty 2 - Attend events as required to service and engage prospects for long-term relationship with the Institute Job Duty 3 - Direct and monitor alumni relations work, including responding to alumni needs and requests Job Duty 4 - Maintain client relationships to promote ongoing customer satisfaction Job Duty 5 - Collect and analyze information to be used for reports Job Duty 6 - Prepare, manage, and monitor annual budgets Job Duty 7 - Serve on appropriate committees Job Duty 8 - Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience Four to five years of job related experience

Successful candidates with experience in higher education and/or supporting alumni relations and activities is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Georgia Tech systems, processes, and policies is preferred.

Other Information
Salary range : $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 (commensurate with professional experience and credentials).
Location: Hybrid (Atlanta, GA)
Job grade : A11
This is a supervisory position. This position does not have financial responsibilities. No, this position will not be required to drive. This role is not considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card). This position may travel 1% - 24% of the time This position does not require security clearance.
