Overview:
As a dedicated Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link connecting patients to critical lab testing. Responsibilities:

Collect high-quality blood specimens from patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, adhering to established protocols.

Prepare samples for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Verify patient demographics and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to ensure specimen integrity and accuracy.

Explain procedures clearly and empathetically, fostering trust and confidence with patients.

Maintain accurate records of specimen collection, patient information, and relevant documentation, adhering to confidentiality policies.

Promote a safe, professional, and welcoming environment in all clinical interactions.

Perform specimen verification and labeling at the point of collection, ensuring diagnostic integrity.

Adapt to multiple locations and work schedules, demonstrating flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, and overtime if required.

Follow all policies and procedures related to safety, dress code, and workplace conduct, embodying the principles of Everyday Excellence.

Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors, demonstrating leadership behaviors and process excellence.

Maintain reliable transportation and punctuality to ensure coverage across assigned sites.

Required Skills:

Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Strong proficiency in blood specimen collection techniques, with a focus on safety and patient comfort.

Demonstrated ability to perform error-free work in a high-volume environment.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.

Proficient data entry and documentation skills.

Physical ability to perform specimen collection duties, including standing for extended periods and handling physical demands of the job.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between multiple locations.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training or certification.

Phlebotomy certification (preferred but not mandatory, required in certain states).

Experience working in a patient service center or retail healthcare setting.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least three years of professional phlebotomy experience, showcasing proficiency across diverse patient populations.

Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient laboratory environment is highly desirable.

Other Requirements:

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Ability to travel to multiple clinical sites with minimal notice.

Comply with all safety, health, and confidentiality policies.

Ability to accurately verify patient identity and specimen labeling at the point of collection.

Must reside within a 20-25 minute commute to assigned locations to ensure punctuality and coverage reliability.

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with healthcare standards.
