Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for high-acuity cardiac patients in a 28-bed PCU/IMCU, maintaining a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs and cardiac telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond to changes in patient status.
- Administer prescribed therapies and cardiac drips (Milrinone, Dobutamine, vasopressors) and manage oxygen therapy, IV fluids, and medications per protocol.
- Recognize and respond to STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, and other acute cardiac events; collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans.
- Document care delivered in the electronic health record, track progress toward goals, and assist with discharge planning and patient education as appropriate.
- Maintain readiness for telemetry bed assignments within the same unit and ensure all required traveler setup tasks (e.g., demographic data and badge photo) are completed.

Requirements
- Documented PCU experience in a hospital setting with a minimum of 2 years in a facility of similar size.
- Cardiac population experience in a 28-bed PCU/IMCU; proficient with STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain cases.
- Ability to work in a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio and to float to telemetry beds with lower acuity as needed.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Ability to work night shifts in a hospital environment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver safe, patient-centered care within a fast-paced cardiac unit.
