Manager of Education & Events
Help Shape the Future of Senior Living Education.
The Georgia Senior Living Association (GSLA) is looking for an experienced Manager of Education who is excited to create exceptional learning experiences for senior living professionals across Georgia. We are looking for someone who is already a strong project manager and is excited to grow alongside an organization that's building what's next.
This is more than an event planning position. We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, managing complex projects, improving processes, and making great programs even better.
We believe great ideas can come from anyone on our team. We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and excited to help shape the future of GSLA, not simply maintain what already exists. If you enjoy creating meaningful educational experiences, connecting with people, solving problems, and working with a team that genuinely enjoys building something together, we would love to hear from you. This is an exempt, full-time position.
About GSLA
Founded in 1998, GSLA is the leading association representing Georgia's senior living providers and industry partners. Through advocacy, education, and collaboration, we help our members strengthen their organizations while improving the lives of older adults across our state.
We are a growing, mission-driven organization that values professionalism, responsiveness, innovation, and teamwork. While our team works primarily in a virtual environment, relationships matter here. We believe in showing up for one another, staying engaged, and creating a culture where everyone contributes.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager of Education leads GSLA's year-round education portfolio, coordinating approximately 40-60 educational programs and events, including webinars, workshops, conferences, leadership programs, and committee meetings.
This is a manager-level role, not an entry-level coordinator position. The successful candidate will be ready to take ownership of a robust education program while continually seeking ways to enhance the member experience and strengthen GSLA's educational offerings.
What You'll Do
- Lead the planning and execution of GSLA's annual education calendar.
- Manage educational programs from initial planning through onsite execution and post-event evaluation.
- Coordinate speakers, venues, continuing education accreditation, budgets, timelines, and logistics.
- Build strong relationships with members, volunteers, speakers, vendors, and accrediting organizations.
- Partner across the GSLA team to support educational programming at the Annual Conference and other signature events.
- Help improve systems, processes, and educational experiences as GSLA continues to grow.
- Serve as a trusted resource for members while representing the Association with professionalism and exceptional customer service.
- A full (very exhaustive) position description is available and will be shared with the interview invitation or upon request from potential candidates.
Who Thrives at GSLA?
You will likely enjoy this role if you:
- Naturally take ownership rather than waiting for direction.
- Love bringing order to complex projects with many moving parts.
- Build authentic relationships and enjoy working with members, volunteers, and industry leaders.
- Look for opportunities to improve processes rather than simply maintain them.
- Can balance multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Enjoy collaborating with a close-knit team while confidently working independently.
- Communicate professionally, positively, and with confidence.
- Appreciate working in a virtual environment and actively engage with your colleagues. (Yes, we are a cameras-on team.)
What We're Looking For
Ideal candidates will bring many of the following:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three or more years of professional experience managing complex projects, educational programs, meetings, or events.
- Experience with nonprofit associations, membership organizations, or the senior living industry is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional project management, organization, and communication skills.
- Comfortable learning new technology and managing multiple software platforms.
- Experience with continuing education accreditation or professional education is a plus.
Candidates must reside in the greater Atlanta area and have the ability to travel throughout Georgia approximately two to three times per month, including occasional overnight travel.
Why Join GSLA?
At GSLA, your work directly impacts the leaders and communities serving older adults across Georgia.
We offer
- Competitive salary ($55,000-$60,000, based on experience)
- Health, dental, vision, 401(k), and voluntary benefits
- Paid time off and generous holidays
- Hybrid virtual work environment with regular in-person collaboration
- Professional development through organizations, including ASAE, GSAE, and Argentum
- A collaborative team that values initiative, innovation, growth, and supporting one another
Ready to Apply?
Please submit your resume, a letter of interest, and three professional references to ***email_hidden*** no later than July 10, 2026 . Subject Line: Manager of Education
Your letter of interest is an important part of your application. We encourage you to write it in your own voice and use it to help us understand why this opportunity interests you, how your experience has prepared you for this role, and what excites you about joining the GSLA team. We value authenticity, thoughtful communication, and genuine enthusiasm.
We look forward to learning more about you.
