What You'll Do- Oversee daily classroom functions and ensure the well-being and safety of a group of children
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the classroom and playground areas, adhering to local, state, and national regulations
- Implement lesson plans and schedules in accordance with the academy's curriculum and programming
- Ensure the classroom is a welcoming and engaging space that encourages creativity and exploration
- Provide clear expectations and recognition to children, while promoting positive behavior and social skills
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom, including housekeeping duties and common areas
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and school functions to stay up-to-date on academy developments and best practices
- Conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner, adhering to the academy's guidelines
- Assist with tasks and responsibilities as needed
- Familiarity with the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds to facilitate programs and ensure child safety
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a licensed early childhood program
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching position required
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- Prior experience working in childcare or teaching
- At least 18 years of age
- 1 year of experience in childcare or teaching
