Inventory Control Supervisor

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Supervisor to oversee inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse control processes in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising inventory personnel, maintaining accurate stock levels, and ensuring materials are properly received, stored, and issued to support production operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in inventory control within a manufacturing or electronics environment , along with the ability to lead teams and improve inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily inventory control activities including receiving, storage, issuing, and cycle counting
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances , identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Maintain inventory records within ERP/WMS systems with a high level of accuracy
- Supervise, train, and support inventory control staff
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity, performance, and workload
- Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and best practices
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse efficiency
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and finance teams to optimize stock levels and reduce obsolete inventory
- Support lean initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and cycle count programs
- Prepare inventory reports including inventory accuracy metrics, adjustments, shrinkage, and slow-moving inventory
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for operational improvements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies
- Assist with physical inventory counts and external audits when required
- Maintain strict control of serialized, lot-controlled, date-code, and customer-owned materials
- Ensure proper handling and storage of ESD-sensitive electronic components
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Experience working in an electronics or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse best practices
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with inventory process optimization and cycle counting programs
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint)
Preferred
- Experience in electronics manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) or mechanical drawings
