Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care on a combined Med-Surg/Stepdown unit with 12 beds and nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity
• Manage patient care for diagnoses including heart failure, sickle cell, and other medical-surgical conditions in a PCU environment
• Titrate set-rate drips as required while adhering to established protocols
• Perform phlebotomy independently by pulling patient labs
• Collaborate with nurse aides and unit staff for comprehensive patient care
• Participate in self-scheduling with an every-other-weekend and holiday rotational requirement
• Uphold unit standards including dress code of navy scrubs and complete unit-specific orientation with computer skills and preceptor support

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years hospital experience in similar size and acuity settings
• Successful completion of at least one prior travel nursing contract
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated solid PCU skillset including telemetry knowledge (use of Space Lab monitors)
• Ability to function as charge nurse when assigned, balancing patient care with leadership responsibilities
