The Registered Nurse (RN) – Hematology/Oncology provides specialized medical-surgical nursing care to patients with cancer and blood disorders. This role involves managing complex conditions, including oncology treatments and high-acuity cases such as sickle cell disease, in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Unit Details:
- Hematology-Oncology focused Medical/Surgical unit (10A)
- Common diagnoses include:
- Oncology (solid tumors, cancer care)
- Hematologic disorders
- Sickle cell disease (high volume)
- Step-down level patients requiring closer monitoring

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (GA or Compact)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Oncology experience in a similar-size facility
- Required certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA
- Preferred certification:
- Chemotherapy certification
