Telecom Construction Manager - Fiber
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day activities of wireline construction projects, including underground and aerial fiber builds.
- Coordinate with engineering, permitting, and operations teams to ensure timely project starts and completions.
- Oversee contractor and in-house crews, ensuring adherence to project scope, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve field issues, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Track project schedules, costs, and resource allocation to meet performance goals.
- Review and approve construction drawings, as-builts, and redlines.
- Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates and managing expectations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Troubleshoot and escalate issues that could impact delivery timelines.
- 5+ years of experience in telecom construction management with a focus on wireline/OSP fiber builds.
- Strong understanding of underground and aerial construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction prints, maps, and specifications.
- Knowledge of permitting processes and utility coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Construction Management, Wireline Builds, OSP Fiber, Underground & Aerial Construction, Permitting Coordination, Contractor Oversight, Project Scheduling, Quality & Safety Compliance, Stakeholder Communication, Familiarity with make-ready processes and joint-use pole attachments, OSHA safety training and/or certifications.
