Welcome to Annandale Village – Where Purpose Meets Community
Annandale Village is a nonprofit community supporting adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries. Our residents—known as Villagers—live with dignity, purpose, and connection across our campus.
The Assisted Living Community (ALC) plays a critical role in creating a home where Villagers feel supported, respected, and engaged in meaningful daily life.
Position Purpose
The Assisted Living Operations Manager provides day-to-day leadership of the Assisted Living Community, ensuring strong team performance, high-quality care, and a consistent, person-centered experience for every Villager.
This role serves as a key operational leader—supporting staff, reinforcing accountability, and creating an environment where both employees and Villagers can thrive. While not a licensed Administrator, this role plays a critical part in maintaining operational excellence and supporting compliance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Leading the Community Experience
- Create and maintain an environment where Villagers feel safe, respected, and truly at home
- Ensure daily operations support meaningful engagement, dignity, and quality of life—not just task completion
- Stay connected to the day-to-day experience of Villagers and staff, addressing needs in real time
Leading and Developing People
- Lead, coach, and support Assisted Living team members to deliver consistent, person-centered care
- Set clear expectations and follow through to ensure accountability and growth
- Be a present, approachable leader who supports the team through both challenges and successes
- Build a culture where teamwork, respect, and ownership are the standard
Ensuring Quality Care and Consistency
- Ensure services are delivered in alignment with each Villager’s needs, preferences, and care plans
- Promote consistency across shifts so every Villager receives the same level of care and attention
- Recognize changes in condition or behavior and ensure appropriate follow-up and communication
- Support collaboration with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to provide well-rounded care
Driving Operational Excellence and Accountability
- Keep daily operations running smoothly by anticipating needs, solving problems, and supporting staff in real time
- Reinforce expectations around documentation, safety, and service delivery
- Support compliance with state regulations and organizational standards through consistent practices—not just oversight
- Partner with leadership to prepare for surveys, audits, and continuous improvement efforts
Managing Staffing and Resources Responsibly
- Ensure staffing supports both quality care and team sustainability
- Monitor attendance, scheduling, and staffing patterns to promote accountability and consistency
- Actively work to reduce overtime and reliance on agency staffing through thoughtful planning and team engagement
- Use resources wisely, balancing operational needs with financial stewardship
Supporting a Safe and Well-Maintained Environment
- Ensure the community is clean, safe, and welcoming for Villagers, families, and staff
- Reinforce safety practices and infection control standards in everyday operations
- Provide leadership and support during incidents or emergencies
Strengthening Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain open, respectful communication with families, caregivers, and team members
- Partner across departments to ensure coordinated care and a seamless Villager experience
- Keep leadership informed of operational trends, challenges, and opportunities
Other Responsibilities
- Support community events, initiatives, and special projects
- Perform other duties in the best interest of Annandale Village and the Villagers we serve
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Services, Nursing, or related field
OR equivalent combination of education and experience - Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in assisted living, healthcare, or residential services
