About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lead toddler teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and be able to create a safe and nurturing environment for our young students. As a lead toddler teacher, you will be responsible for formulating and implementing curricula to meet the educational and developmental needs of our toddlers. You will also be required to supervise teaching staff, track and report on students' progress, and ensure that classes remain safe and conducive to learning. A successful lead toddler teacher will be compassionate, able to work well under pressure, and committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advances in early childhood development research. They will also be able to communicate effectively, listen actively, and work collaboratively with other teachers to advance the school's objectives. Our lead toddler teacher will play a key role in creating a caring and safe environment for our children and will be responsible for developing positive relationships with the children, their parents, and the school's directors.
What You'll Do- Develop and implement engaging curricula activities that promote children's learning and development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, and ensure that all materials are readily available and easily accessible.
- Regularly communicate with parents through informal discussions and progress reports, keeping them informed of their child's progress and needs.
- Model and encourage good hygiene practices and self-help skills in children.
- Support a smooth daily transition from home to child care center, ensuring that children feel safe and secure.
- Adhere to all center policies and state regulations, and ensure that the classroom environment is inclusive and welcoming to all children.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement and stay up-to-date with the latest best practices in early childhood education.
- Conduct regular child assessments to gauge students' progress and identify areas for support.
- Document and report on children's progress, sharing their achievements and challenges with parents and directors.
- BUILD and maintain strong relationships with each family, ensuring that their child's needs are met and that they feel valued and supported.
- Lead teacher and parent meetings to discuss children's progress, share ideas, and address any concerns.
- Organize and participate in occasional team-building activities to promote a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Education: CDA, TCC, TD, associate degree or higher in childcare REQUIRED.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional childcare experience.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check.
- Valid state license or equivalent.
- Proven experience planning and developing curricula for toddlers.
- Prior experience teaching toddlers.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Able to attend meetings during evenings, as needed.
- A keen interest in early childhood education.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
