Position Summary

The Make Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, cleaning, painting, and general maintenance tasks. This role plays a key part in ensuring each apartment is move-in ready and meets community quality standards.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete apartment turns to prepare units for new residents.
• Perform basic drywall repairs, painting, touch-ups, and patchwork.
• Complete minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Repair or replace fixtures, appliances, doors, blinds, and locks as needed.
• Ensure apartments are clean, functional, and move-in ready.
• Remove trash and debris from vacant units.
• Assist with maintaining the overall appearance of the property.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

Required

• Previous apartment maintenance, make ready, construction, or renovation experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Own basic hand tools (power tools preferred).
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Previous multifamily apartment maintenance or make ready experience.
• EPA Certification is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

• Multifamily apartment community.
• Indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Frequent walking, bending, lifting, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods.
• Interaction with onsite staff, vendors, and residents as needed.
