Senior Accountant

 

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the assisting with all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and audit in accordance with the GAAP regulations and policies of the not-for-profit/governmental company. This position will assist with the fiscal controls of financial reports, accounts payable and receivable, and internal and external audits. This position will also assist the CFO in preparing reports and periodically presenting to the Board of Directors. This position reports directly to the CFO.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 


  • Assist with month-end close

  • Maintain ongoing account reconciliations

  • Various operational accounting duties to maintain segregation of duties within department, ability to review input of invoices/bills for accuracy

  • Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with GAAP

  • Assist with creation of monthly and annual budget reports

  • Preparation and period presentation of financial statements in monthly board meetings

  • Assist with financial audit

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills & Qualifications

 


  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting, regulations and best practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate and work well in a team

  • Thorough attention to detail and highly organized

  • Leadership and business management skills

  • Ability to problem solve and analyze data

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • NetSuite proficiency preferred

  • 2-5 years accounting experience preferred

  • Audit experience preferred

T he candidate who is selected for this position will have to successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check.
