Responsibilities: Assist cooks and chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, peeling, and measuring ingredients. Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as directed by the kitchen staff. Keep the kitchen clean, sanitized, and well-organized at all times. Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using appropriate cleaning methods. Ensure workstations, counters, and preparation areas are hygienic and ready for use. Restock food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen essentials when inventory runs low. Help maintain proper food safety and hygiene standards according to kitchen guidelines. Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries in refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas. Label and store ingredients properly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. Dispose of kitchen waste and garbage regularly while keeping waste areas clean. Support chefs during busy hours by preparing ingredients and organizing cooking tools. Follow instructions from chefs and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Maintain cleanliness of floors, sinks, storage racks, and kitchen appliances. Ensure proper handling and storage of perishable items. Assist in setting up and closing down the kitchen before and after service. Report any damaged equipment, shortages, or safety concerns to the kitchen supervisor. Work as part of the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation and service.
