Fuel Truck Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Fuel Truck Driver for a direct hire opportunity in Lithonia, GA. This role supports active residential, commercial, and heavy construction job sites by transporting and dispensing diesel fuel, DEF fluid, lubricants, and other approved petroleum products to heavy equipment, generators, trucks, and company vehicles.

The Fuel Truck Driver plays an important role in keeping field operations productive, safe, and on schedule. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced CDL driver who enjoys working independently, takes pride in safe equipment operation, and is comfortable operating around active jobsites, heavy machinery, and fast-moving construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate a fuel truck to transport and dispense diesel fuel, DEF fluid, oil, and lubricants to active construction job sites.
- Fuel heavy construction equipment, generators, trucks, and company vehicles while following site safety and spill prevention procedures.
- Complete accurate fuel logs, delivery records, meter readings, mileage logs, inspection forms, and daily reports.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, pumps, hoses, tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, and safety equipment.
- Monitor fuel inventory levels, communicate replenishment needs, and respond promptly to field fueling requests to reduce downtime.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards while reporting any spills, safety concerns, accidents, or equipment issues immediately.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 per year.
- Location: Lithonia, GA.
- Early morning start times and occasional overtime based on project needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Safely transport and dispense fuel, DEF fluid, oil, and lubricants to construction equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain accurate fueling and compliance documentation.
- Support active construction job sites by responding to fueling needs and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Follow DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, spill prevention, and company safety requirements.

- Valid CDL Class B required.
- Tanker endorsement required.
- Hazmat endorsement preferred or ability to obtain within the designated timeframe.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record required.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, fuel handling procedures, and construction safety standards.
- Ability to safely operate GPS systems, fuel meters, pumps, hoses, and fueling equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and safely climb ladders and heavy equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, sit for extended periods, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely around moving heavy equipment, noise, dust, vibration, and active construction operations.
- Strong communication, organization, time management, dependability, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting field teams and project deadlines.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- CDL Class A preferred.
- Previous fuel truck, lube truck, or construction equipment fueling experience preferred.
- Experience in heavy civil construction, underground utilities, grading and excavation, highway or DOT construction, site development, utility construction, asphalt, or paving operations preferred.
- Experience working around active construction job sites and heavy equipment strongly preferred.
