Director, Digital Experience
Job Summary
Responsible for owning the strategy and performance of WhiteCap.com, ensuring it delivers a smooth, engaging, and brand‑aligned experience. Responsible for improving usability, content, and conversion, turning the website into a key driver of customer satisfaction and business growth.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Defines and executes the strategic vision for WhiteCap.
- Leads UX improvements in navigation, search, and personalization.
- Uses data and testing to drive conversion and engagement.
- Manages digital advertising budget and vendor performance.
- Oversees content and merchandising strategy with Marketing and Category teams.
- Collaborates across teams to deliver site updates and campaigns.
- Mentors associates and builds a high‑performing team.
- Champions innovation and customer‑first thinking.
Nature and Scope
- Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
- Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization’s plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
- May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with a strong focus on eCommerce, omnichannel and/or sales and experience overseeing strategy.
- Proven experience building and leading digital teams, experience working within a Product Operating Model.
- Strong understanding of UX and performance metrics.
- Experience with digital marketing and content strategy.
- Skilled communicator and collaborator.
