Job Title: Lead Estimator – Fencing Construction

Location: Canton, Georgia

Reports To: General Manager / Owner

We’re currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lead Estimator to join our team and help drive our continued success.

Position Summary:

As the Lead Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various fencing projects including chain link, wood, vinyl, ornamental, and security fencing. You’ll work closely with the sales, project management, and field operations teams to ensure estimates are competitive, comprehensive, and aligned with project goals and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for residential, commercial, and public sector projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and availability.
• Perform site visits as needed to assess field conditions and verify scope.
• Lead the bid preparation and submission process for private and public tenders.
• Maintain estimating database and historical cost records.
• Identify value engineering options and cost-saving alternatives.
• Work with project managers and field teams to transition awarded jobs effectively.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client consultations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3–5 years of estimating experience in the fencing or construction industry (fencing experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of fencing materials, installation methods, and construction best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and site plans.
• Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Familiarity with municipal, DOT, or federal bid processes.
• Prior field experience in fencing installation or construction is a strong plus.
