Field Operations Leader
Slip Robotics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Operations Leader to lead our field strategies and initiatives, enabling scalable growth in automated robotics (e.g., SlipBot, SlipLift) under a RaaS model. You will oversee all aspects of field operations, including deployments, maintenance, logistics, compliance, and establishing a Customer Support function. You will drive scalable field operations to ensure high customer satisfaction, minimal downtime, and efficient resource allocation, supporting rapid expansion and success as a RaaS company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction across field functions, including service, logistics, compliance, and customer support.
- Strategy Development and Optimization: Develop strategies aligned with company goals to drive efficiency; streamline processes and reduce costs using Lean/Six Sigma. Scale operations via remote diagnostics, supply chain resilience, and customer self-service tools to optimize technician efficiency and uptime.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering accountability and improvement. Hire/train staff for growing deployment volumes, unifying field ops, engineering, logistics, and customer support.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with leadership and departments (R&D, Sales, Marketing) for seamless integration and goal alignment. Gather field feedback for product roadmaps.
- Performance Metrics: Establish metrics to monitor efficiency, quality, and productivity; report on progress. Track downtime, resolution times, satisfaction, and financial levers like ROIC/ROI via optimizations.
- Risk Management: Identify/mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance. Address supply chain disruptions, safety protocols, and remote site failures.
- Innovation Encouragement: Foster innovation by encouraging ideas that enhance effectiveness.
- Financial Optimization: Optimize field ops for ROIC, ROI, and gross margin via efficient deployments, predictive maintenance, and supplier negotiations.
- Customer Engagement: Uphold SLAs (e.g., rapid responses) and upsell opportunities. Scale Customer Support for inquiries, data requests, and self-service via portals/APIs, leveraging AI for efficiency.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years in field operations leadership, ideally in robotics, logistics, or hardware deployment (e.g., scaling tech installations). Proven track record in high-growth startups, focusing on remote diagnostics, supply chain enhancements, and integrated UIs.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with robotics maintenance, remote diagnostics, logistics software, RaaS models, supply chain tools, automated testing, and data pipelines. NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Financial Acumen: Strong grasp of ROIC, ROI, and gross margin levers to drive financial improvements via efficiency and cost reductions.
- Soft Skills: Strong leader motivating distributed teams; excellent problem-solving and communication for customer/internal alignment.
- Key Traits: Hands-on, resilient in dynamic settings; focused on efficiency, safety, customer-centricity, and extensive travel.
Benefits
- Base Salary: competitive, commensurate with experience.
- Equity: meaningful incentive stock options in a high-growth startup.
- Benefits: health insurance, 401(k), unlimited PTO.
- Perks: company vehicle/expense reimbursement for travel; professional development in field ops tech.
