Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Performs surface prep, priming, painting and refinishing on Class 8 tractors, trailers and medium/heavy duty equipment.
• Sands, masks, primes and preps panels, fenders, hoods and trailer skins for paint application.
• Mixes paint to manufacturer specifications and color-matches OEM and fleet-branded finishes.
• Operates HVLP spray guns and paint booth equipment to apply primer, base coat and clear coat finishes.
• Buffs, polishes and details finished work to ensure a quality finish that meets customer and fleet standards.
• Applies fleet decals, logos, numbering and reflective tape as required by customer specifications.
• Maintains spray equipment, paint booth and mixing area in clean, working order.
• Follows all OSHA, EPA and shop safety protocols for handling solvents, isocyanates and PPE.
• Communicates with management regarding additional found damage, issues preventing completion of repairs and best refinish solutions.
• Compiles inspection reports, documents repairs and reports all findings to management.
• Responds as soon as possible to client queries, interacting with our customers in person or via phone.

Qualifications:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• 2+ years painting and refinishing medium/heavy duty trucks, Class 8 tractors and/or trailers
• Proficiency with HVLP spray equipment and paint booth operation
• Color matching and paint mixing experience with two-part urethanes and commercial-grade coatings
• Follow oral and written instructions to complete daily tasks
• Basic reading and writing skills to complete customer repair orders
• Basic computer skills to submit repairs for billing
• Ability to work in a team environment while following shop safety procedures
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
• Provide own tools

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

• PPG, Sherwin-Williams, Axalta or comparable manufacturer paint certification
• I-CAR or ASE refinish certification
• Experience with fleet graphics, decal application and reflective tape installation
• Experience working on trailers (dry van, reefer, flatbed)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Class A CDL

Posted Salary Range: USD $32.00 - USD $38.00 /Hr.
