Job Summary:
• Provide high-quality medical nutrition therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Support staff Registered Dietitians during peak workload days
• Serve as a clinical nutrition resource across various care areas

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform nutrition assessments and screenings for high-risk patients
• Develop individualized nutrition care plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
• Create and maintain MDS plans for long-term care patients
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress in medical records in a timely manner
• Provide patient and caregiver education tailored to individual medical, cultural, and readiness needs
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Meetings, Continuum of Care Meetings, Unit Rounds, and family conferences
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and service planning initiatives
• Develop and maintain clinical nutrition Standards of Care
• Submit and present annual disease-based practice standards
• Mentor and orient new dietitians and RD I staff
• Participate in department-specific responsibilities (see addendum below)
• Represent Clinical Nutrition and Kaweah Health at internal and external meetings
• Utilize community resources to support patient nutrition goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Department-Specific Addendum (Essential by Practice Area):
• Renal Dietitian: Develop educational materials, provide staff in-services, and oversee renal nutrition programs
• Peds/NICU Dietitian: Manage formula preparation and provide counseling to families and guardians
• Long-Term Care/Rehab/Mental Health: Ensure foodservice compliance and oversight in residential units

Required Qualifications:
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
• Master’s degree in Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field, OR nationally recognized board certification relevant to the practice area
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian
• Professional acute care experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Nutrition Focused Physical Exams
• Experience using Cerner EMR system

Certifications:
• Registered Dietitian (RD) – Required
