Unique Skills:

Azure Databricks Data Engineer Skillset Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years experience with Azure Databricks
• Deep understanding of Unity Catalog, data lineage, access control, and audit logging, with the ability to enforce enterprise-wide data governance policies.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable, cost optimized, fault-tolerant data pipelines using Databricks Workflows, Delta Lake, and Auto Loader, with a focus on modularity and reusability.
• Expertise in writing production-grade Python code for data ingestion, transformation, and export, including use of unit testing, error handling, and logging frameworks.
• Experience securely ingesting data from on-premise databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) using CDC and batch based methodologies by extending existing pipelines or creating new pipelines.
• Ability to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for Databricks notebooks and workflows using Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Databricks Asset Bundles including automated testing and deployment.
• Familiarity with serverless cost models, usage monitoring, and optimization strategies to ensure efficient resource utilization and budget adherence.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 12 years relevant business/technical experience to include six (6) years specific reporting, data analytics, or related technical development/deployment experience. Master's Degree may be used to offset one (1) year of experience; PhD may offset two (2) years of experience.

Position Purpose :

This is a data and analytics development role within the Gulfstream Business Technology organization for the Enterprise Reporting team. This role directly supports the suite of Gulfstream Enterprise Reporting applications. Responsible for developing requirements, solution development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise reporting solutions.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Provide the solution leadership and staff mentorship for the implementation team. Delivers solution capabilities (processes, integration, data migration, and custom development) by leveraging product knowledge and expertise.
2. Creates plans according to schedules and assignments, and acts independently to carry them out.
3. Delegates tasks and/or responsibilities to team members for action according to their level of experience and assigned accountability.
4. Ensures applications processes are followed consistently and are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, etc.
5. Experience in conducting testing including design and execution of test cases.
6. Supports management in recruiting, hiring, and career development.
7. Creates application architectures and designs and configures complex enterprise applications based on the business requirements.
8. May be called upon to serve as Project Manager in support of significant projects within their assigned functional area.
9. Assists with the development of work breakdown structures, project plans, and skills required. to develop and implement applications.
10. Develops strategies for the monitoring, preventive maintenance and disaster recovery of applications.
11. Documents, develops, tests, deploys, and supports reporting and data analytics development using a variety of technical tools in support of business requirements.

Additional Functions:

1. Serves as technical expert in one or more applications within a portfolio. .
2. Assists in the development of the disaster recovery strategy. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

1. Experience with Agile development methodology and working on an agile team preferred. Multiple agile based project deliveries and certified scrum master preferred.
2. Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (SDLC).
3. Experience in conducting testing including design and execution of test cases.
4. Demonstrated capability to understand high volume / high complexity data structures to deliver analytics solutions that drive business insight and value.
5. Excellent presentation design and delivery skills.
6. Demonstrates innovation, foresight and mature IT architectural judgment in anticipating and solving complex IT architectural problems.
