Summary:

The Territory Manager is responsible for managing a territory of ophthalmology and optometry offices and will be accountable for the sales productivity of the territory. The Territory Manager must possess a comprehensive understanding of selling to medical professionals, the pharmaceutical supply chain and performing effective sales strategies to increase product sales while achieving corporate objectives. The Territory Manager is responsible for achieving sales plans, maintaining ophthalmic market and product knowledge, and performing account coverage responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Achieve sales and unit volume forecasts for all promoted products
  • Develop key physician and account relationships within territory
  • Maintain detailed customer records and reporting within CRM system
  • Manage budgets and expenses for territory
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor and other team members
  • Report on activities and changes in marketplace
  • Represent Thea Pharma ethically and professionally

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two years of previous field sales experience in pharmaceuticals required, with experience in ophthalmology preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of strong sales performance
  • Persuasion skills, business acumen, organizational and analytical skills are required
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Valid Driver’s License, required

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

As a field sales person, it is expected that you will travel within your territory 90% of your time. Territory coverage may require long drives, short flights, and/or overnight stays.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position requires prolonged sitting. Additionally, requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately. Additional physical requirements include hearing spoken communication clearly.
