Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive echocardiography examinations, including transthoracic studies and related cardiac imaging, following physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Acquire high-quality images, optimize machine settings, and document findings with clear measurements and reports.
- Verify patient history, monitor safety, and adhere to infection control and safety guidelines during imaging procedures.
- Communicate results or preliminary findings to the cardiology team per lab protocol and ensure proper transmission to interpreting physicians.
- Maintain and demonstrate credentialing requirements for cardiac sonography (see requirements) and participate in ongoing education and credential maintenance.
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records in the imaging information system; support quality assurance and standardization efforts.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac sonography or a closely related specialty.
- Credentialing: appropriate echocardiography credential (RDCS from ARDMS; RCS or RCCS from CCI; or ACS from CCI). Additional credential in one of the following: RVT (ARDMS), RVS (CCI), or RS (ARRT) is preferred.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and participate in a travel assignment; must meet the program’s location restrictions (no local candidates within 50 miles of Lawrenceville, GA).
