SUMMARY
Performs assembly procedures at various assigned workstations to produce panelized components for modular building products and steel mezzanines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Performs various assembly-type functions using hand-power tools and metal fabricating equipment.
2. MUST be able to read a standard tape measure and apply measurements for proper cut and fit.
3. Read all blueprints and understand assigned components from approved drawings.
4. Prepares individual steel and metal parts for appropriate modifications per approved drawings with minimal tolerances.
5. Utilizes plant equipment (industrial oven, lift truck, power tools, Banding tools, steel welding & cutting equipment (gas and arc), hydraulic and air operated equipment, etc.) as directed by the team leader.
6. Provides the final checking and validation of cut steel products before powder coating or painting.
7. Ability to problem solve when basic to complex issues arise.
8. Strong team player who can produce in an assigned work cell.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience of 3-5 years in the construction industry would be required to perform this level of trade.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weights, and measurements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
Ability to discern when other parties need to be involved in validating priorities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, employee is required to stand for extended periods, use both hands with dexterity, reach with both arms extended, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
