CADD Technician (Tucker)

TRCTalent seeks a CAD Drafter to work alongside a firm that works on major civil and municipal projects in the Greater Atlanta area. They seek someone for a contract position at their Tucker location.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Program Director, this role involves proficient CAD (Computer Aided Design) system work for engineering design. The job requires application of engineering and computer-based drafting skills to create civil and site drawings and may involve field assignments as needed. The Senior CADD Specialist operates with a high level of autonomy in task execution.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare dynamic three-dimensional representations for civil design projects, including roadways, airports, and site development.
• Assist in the preparation or review of project documentation, such as presentations, sketches, renderings, drawings, maps, and technical memoranda.
• Create detailed drawings showing dimensions and specifications of various infrastructure elements like roadways, buildings, water lines, sewers, and drains.
• Ensure plans adhere to project scope, client specifications, and standards.
• Generate customized maps, graphics, and detailed drawings of vertical/horizontal systems, including plans, sections, elevations, and profiles.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of engineering features and their integration into final drawing packages.
• Create pictorials, renderings, and isometric drawings for reports and charts.
• Develop detailed layouts, assembly drawings, and index drawings.
• Establish CAD standards and procedures to enhance plan production efficiency.
• Coordinate and engage with clients as required.
• Meet designated schedule deadlines for drawing delivery.
• Conduct Engineering Site Inspections as requested.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Education:

Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology with supplemental coursework in engineering drafting.

Experience:

• Over 2 years of drafting experience with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with engineering drafting on CAD Systems, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in software systems supporting CAD operations.
• Mathematical understanding as applied to engineering principles.
• Experience with electronic and CAD-supporting computer hardware.
• Skill in drafting engineering plans of higher complexity using CAD Systems.
• Capability to create complex schematic drawings from rough sketches or verbal instructions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and exhibit good organizational and follow-up skills.
• Knowledge of GIS is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Effective communication with customers, vendors, and team members via phone and in-person interactions.
• Equipment/Software Requirements:
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Access.
• CAD Software Certification.

Work Requirements:

• Primarily operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
• Physical Requirements:
• This role involves sedentary work, including sitting for most of the time. Physical exertion is minimal, occasionally involving lifting up to 10 pounds of force or negligible force frequently or constantly, including the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body. Other physical activities may include lifting, using fingers, talking, hearing, reaching, standing, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and close visual acuity.
