Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for neuro-focused patients in the PCU, including neuro status monitoring and frequent neurological checks.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed; manage IV therapy and monitor patient response.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in EPIC; maintain accurate and timely charting.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and plan for discharge.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate to the care team promptly as needed.
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to unit policies during all interactions.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license; Nursys license verification is required.
- EPIC experience is required.
- NIHSS must be included in the CV packet to be considered.
- Neuro step-down experience required; ACLS certification preferred.
- May also consider a strong med/surg nurse with NIHSS, ACLS, and some step-down experience, as they would manage similar patients.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (PCU/neuro/step-down).
- No block scheduling; weekend shifts required.
- Profile must include comprehensive documentation: work history/resume with gaps no greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, Certification Card, and Nursys verification.
- Must load all demographic information into the profile, including badge-appropriate photo.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and adapt to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
