Gleeds US is experiencing significant growth across data centres, advanced manufacturing, mission critical facilities, and large‑scale commercial programmes. To support this expansion, we are seeking an Associate Director – Senior Commercial Manager to join our team in the United States, ideally based in Atlanta (or within 1–2 hours’ travel) .

You will work closely with the Commercial Director, acting as a key partner in driving commercial strategy, leading client engagements, and ensuring consistent excellence across all cost and commercial activities.

As Associate Director, you will provide strategic leadership across all commercial and cost management activities, including:
- Work closely with the Commercial Director to implement commercial strategy, governance, and best practice across the US region.
- Provide senior‑level commercial insight to support decision‑making and programme direction.
- Deputise for the Commercial Director when required, ensuring continuity of leadership.
- Lead cost management and commercial delivery on major programmes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and client confidence.
- Oversee procurement processes, including vendor prequalification, bid assessments, bid levelling, and contract recommendations.
- Prepare and present detailed estimates, value engineering options, and commercial risk assessments.
- Validate vendor pricing using benchmarking, market intelligence, and robust challenge.
- Lead cost reporting frameworks, including forecasting, budget tracking, and commercial risk registers.
- Present commercial updates to clients and internal leadership with clarity and confidence.
- Manage payment applications, change orders, and contractual entitlements, ensuring compliance and dispute avoidance.
- Ensure all commercial outputs meet Gleeds’ high standards of quality, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to capability development across the region.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to training materials and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the use of bid analysis sheets, change control documentation, estimating tools, and take‑off software to ensure consistent, high‑quality outputs
We are looking for a senior commercial leader who brings:
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
- Substantial experience and knowledge in commercial management, cost management, or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Proven experience leading commercial functions on medium to large‑scale programmes.
- Strong understanding of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in client‑facing environments.
- Experience with estimating tools and cost management software.
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence at senior levels.
