What You Will Do:

As a Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR), you will assist in moderate to high acuity cardiovascular and surgical cases under the supervision of a registered nurse. Your role will include preparing the operative suite, ensuring sterile conditions, assisting with instrument and supply management, and providing patient-centered, culturally aware care. You will anticipate the needs of surgeons, troubleshoot equipment, and support performance improvement initiatives. Your efforts will help maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence across all procedures.

Required Skills:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent upon hire
• Ability to perform duties in moderate to high complexity surgical cases, including cardiovascular procedures
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterile techniques
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
• Effective communication skillsverbally and in writing
• Ability to work under stress and adapt quickly to emergency situations
• Computer proficiency for documentation and supply management
• Ability to collaborate seamlessly with healthcare team members

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in cardiovascular or CVOR surgeries
• Advanced surgical skills for complex procedures
• Mentoring or precepting experience with new staff or students
• Additional certifications such as BLS or STEMI coursework

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate's degree or technical certification preferred
• Prior OR/surgical experience, particularly in CVOR or high-acuity settings, is advantageous
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential is mandatory

Other Requirements:

• Certification required upon hire; active BLS certification preferred
• Willingness to work during scheduled shifts, including possible late or weekend hours based on unit needs
• Ability to handle call responses and emergency situations as required
• Compliance with all hospital and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission policies
