ATL Courier’s Driver Manager builds relationships with its driver force. This position works with other Supervisors, Fleet Supervisor, and Compliance personnel to maintain a professional, safe and compliant operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant communication with drivers to gauge the pulse of work conditions, dispatch-driver relations, compensation, customer/shipper tendencies, and offer performance advice
Requirements: Education / Work Experience / Certifications / Physical / Other:
- 4-5 years of dispatch experience required
- TSA / Air Freight regulatory knowledge and certification preferred, will train
- Commercial driving safety and hours of service knowledge preferred, will train
- Hazardous materials regulatory knowledge and certification preferred, will train
- Forklift certification preferred, will train
- High School Diploma or equivalent - Degree in Business Management/Administration/Logistics preferred
- Knowledge of Metro Atlanta roads and other surrounding areas required
- Experience with G-Suite (GMail, Google Drive, Maps, and Calendar) highly preferred
- Must possess time management skills and have a proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Must possess strong leadership skills and be able to delegate tasks appropriately
- Must be flexible in scheduling to work/train with team members across all shifts
- Must have great verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills and patience
- Must be flexible and highly adaptable to changing industry requirements and customer needs
- Able to multitask while managing employee performance
- Exceptional computer skills required as a large portion of responsibilities are computer based
- Moderate physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 50 lbs.
