Are you ready to take ownership of a facility-wide quality program and make a lasting impact? We’re looking for a Quality Supervisor to lead quality assurance and food safety initiatives at a rapidly expanding food & beverage manufacturer. In this role, you’ll ensure compliance with customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards while leading GMP audits and eventual implementation of SQF certification. Location: commutable from Jacksonville, FL

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain robust quality assurance programs, including HACCP, GMP, and food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with FDA, FSMA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead internal and third-party GMP audits from preparation through follow-up, managing corrective actions and driving progress toward SQF certification.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, policies, and records to ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and future certification requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data—including product specifications, nonconformities, and customer feedback—to identify trends and guide continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and external providers (e.g., pest control, contractors) to resolve quality issues, mitigate risks, and implement preventive measures.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of quality technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement through training, feedback, and team development.
  • Conduct regular team and cross-functional meetings to review quality metrics, address challenges, and enhance operational efficiency in production processes, material handling, and packaging.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, or a related field. Equivalent experience in food manufacturing will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a quality assurance role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to mentor, train, and influence team members across all levels.
  • Experience in implementing GMPs, HACCP, and leading third party audits.
  • Familiarity with food safety management systems (FSMS) and working knowledge of SQF or similar certifications.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting using quality metrics and standards.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole quality resource while effectively collaborating with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to temperature changes, noise, and standing for extended periods.
