CREW LEADER

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a crew in performing landscape maintenance tasks, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
- Promote and model a safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and promptly reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions.
- Oversee the proper and safe operation of crew vehicles, trailers, hand tools, and maintenance equipment such as mowers, edgers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, including checking fluid levels, oil changes, tire pressure, and blade maintenance.
- Ensure all assigned maintenance tasks—such as mowing, edging, weeding, watering, and pruning—are completed on schedule and to company standards.
- Report any damaged or missing plant material and communicate additional needs to management as appropriate.
- Oversee the proper application of fertilizers and pest control techniques as needed.
- Complete and process necessary job paperwork, including equipment inventory forms, safety sheets, and employee time sheets.
- Verify crew time worked and report any discrepancies to the Account Manager.
- Interact professionally and courteously with Account Managers, subcontractors, customers, and crew members, maintaining appropriate dress and conduct at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 2 years of experience in landscaping or related tasks.
- Experience supervising and coaching teams of 3 or more in landscape maintenance.
- Knowledge of and experience with enforcing safety policies and procedures (PPE).
- Ability to meet the physical demands of outdoor work, including working in various weather conditions and with exposure to dirt, water, chemicals, and noise.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and clients.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
