Infant and Toddler Classroom Teacher/Assistant Teacher

Summary

The role of an infant/toddler teacher is not purely academic, they would need to ensure the safety of children under their care and supervision during activities. Working primarily in the daycare centers, these professionals exhibit behavior management techniques conducive to the organization’s philosophy. They are expected to perform several tasks to ensure the health and safety of children. To contribute to a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children in the setting. Gives support to other personnel within the setting.

Duties

To contribute to a planned program of activities suitable to the age range of children; • To keep a proper record of daily achievements • Work alongside parents/staff of special needs children to provide full integration in the setting; • Support all staff and engage in teamwork; • Uphold standards within the setting by adhering to all policies and procedures or management techniques conducive to Bemiss Academy’s philosophy and Bright from the Start rules and regulations. Must and expected to perform tasks to ensure the health and safety of children at all times. Must supervise children at all times. Be constantly aware of the needs of children.
