Senior Java Developer
Kforce has a client that is seeking a remote Senior Java Developer to join our team. Overview: The client is kicking off a focused stabilization and modernization initiative for an application and is looking to bring on an individual to support this effort. The application for the client is utilized to support various orders, vendor management/integration and fulfillment initiatives. This engagement focuses on retiring their remaining legacy dependencies, completing platform stability and observability improvements, and advancing a broader cloud modernization effort. The work spans backend service rewrites, cloud migrations (GCP), and reliability/observability tooling.
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in an enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform strongly preferred)
- Backend development experience in Java/Spring Boot
- Experience improving system resiliency, monitoring, and observability using GCP tech stacks
- Familiarity with varying toolchain: Cloud Foundry (PCF), Docker, GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines), Google Cloud Platform (Spanner, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage), Elastic Cloud/Elasticsearch, and Grafana/Looker for observability dashboards
- Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate closely
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools - specifically Claude and/or GitHub Copilot - to accelerate day-to-day development
