Store Manager 2 role at GameStop. The Store Manager 2 is responsible for all facets of store operations at two store locations and directly influences the performance of everyone who interacts with guests.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead in a multiunit capacity, with the ability to multitask and direct a larger team across two store locations.
  • Provide and model best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during every transaction, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guest service.
  • Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; ensure proper handling of cash, receipts, and customer service.
  • Respond to guest inquiries in person or by phone; answer calls promptly and professionally.
  • Promote GameStop benefits such as new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates.
  • Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of store policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.
  • Communicate regularly with store associates and District Manager to implement initiatives; set guest service expectations and train staff across responsibilities and guidelines.
  • Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks, and maintain optimal guest service levels.
  • Approve payroll and manage time off requests; ensure accurate timekeeping and pay.
  • Provide timely recognition and feedback to associates and document performance in HR systems.
  • Maintain neat, clean, organized store areas and ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
  • Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily and manage inventory across stores in the district/region.
  • Perform store inventory counts, stock and restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized.
  • Protect company assets via inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages as appropriate and manage security practices at closing.
  • Lead the team to meet or exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals; ensure closeout paperwork is accurate and deposits are made per guidelines.
  • Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and communicate differences to leadership.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring proper labeling and packing.
  • Maintain safety awareness and address hazardous situations; report injuries per guidelines.
  • Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of retail management experience required.
  • At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.

  • Work 40 hours per week with flexibility for extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.
  • Remain reliable under pressure and solve problems creatively while maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Be trustworthy and exercise good judgment.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and move throughout the store; lift up to 30 lbs at times.
  • On military-base locations, understand military ranks and insignia if applicable.
Compensation

$17.00 - $24.00
