Machining Production Supervisor

Marietta, GA
The Role: Less Desk, More Deck

We are looking for a Production Supervisor who leads from the front. If you’re looking for a quiet office and a spreadsheet-only diet, this isn't the seat for you. We need a floor-first leader who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, jump on a machine to demonstrate a technique, and stay until the job is done right.

You are the heartbeat of the production floor. You’ll be responsible for turning blueprints and schedules into finished products by directly managing, training, and mentoring a crew across diverse machining departments. What Do You Want to Make Today? Our client specializes in complex, tight-tolerance products across numerous industries. If you have the grit to manage a diverse shop floor and the technical chops to back it up, apply today!

salary: $52,000 - $72,800 per year
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

  • Direct Floor Oversight: Spend 90% of your shift on the floor. Monitor workflows, troubleshoot mechanical or process bottlenecks in real-time, and ensure the team is hitting targets.

  • Hands-on Training: We don't just "tell" here; we "show." You will personally train new hires and upskill current staff on equipment operation (CNC, Screw Machines, EDM), safety protocols, and quality standards.

  • Decisive Leadership: When a machine goes down or a deadline shifts, you make the call. We need someone who trusts their gut, makes a decision, and takes full responsibility for the outcome.

  • Workflow Optimization: Coordinate production across departments—from NC/EDM and Multi-Spindle Screw Machines to Laser Cutting and Assembly. Identify inefficiencies on the fly and reassign labor to keep the line moving.

  • Quality Control: Oversee precision standards, including micro-finishing and micron measurements. Conduct "first-off" inspections to ensure customer specifications are met perfectly.

  • Experience: 3–5 years in a high-precision manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership/lead-hand role.

  • Technical Depth: Proficiency in a wide range of machining processes, including 4 & 5-axis milling/turning, Wire EDM, and High-Volume Screw Machining (.090″ to 3.00″ diameters).

  • Process Knowledge: Familiarity with secondary operations such as broaching, thread rolling, and precision grinding.

The essential functions of this role include:
  • working in a smoke free environment
  • wearing steel toe shoes
  • working in a non-temperature controlled environment
