Lab Chemist, 1st Shift - Cumming Lab (Cumming, GA)

Job Details:

SUMMARY: Responsibilities will vary from performing one procedure or work instruction to a number of analytical microbiological or quality system procedures or work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory. Precision and accuracy in performance of the work instructions and data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements. Initial proficiency testing must be passing, and competency will be verified at least annually thereafter. Team members will be required to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training; other duties as assigned.

REQUIRMENTS :

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level coursework or a degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or Physical Sciences preferred.

Experience: Laboratory experience preferred.

Technical Skills: General knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Ability: Able to stand or sit for a full shift, and perform tasks involving bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and other physical activities.

Position Specific Requirements:

• Entry-level position with occasional weekend and/or holiday may be scheduled as needed to meet business needs.
• The Lab Microbiologist/Chemist position involves working with animal proteins in a plant facility environment. Team members in this role will encounter strong odors as part of their regular duties.
