The Contracts Specialist will be responsible for full life cycle administration of government and commercial contracts and agreements, and corporate business operations. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to create contractual documents in accordance with the FAR and FAA AMS, analyze unique contractual situations, and provide strategies to achieve business goals while minimizing risks. Candidate will also work with executive leadership to manage corporate operations activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare contractual agreements using current research methods and a knowledge of a client's needs and ability to fulfill its requirements
  • Ensure that the terms of contractual agreements written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with the desires of the client
  • Assist clients to fulfill the terms of or to terminate contracts on mutually amicable terms
  • Review contract terms and conditions to verify that they are in compliance with company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations
  • Clearly explain contract terminology to clients and other interested parties in simple, everyday language
  • Self-monitor progress according to the schedule of completion to submit drafts and documents in a timely manner
  • Proofread, edit, and fact-check legal documents for accuracy and consistency, according to a style guide if provided by the client
  • Negotiate contract agreements for products and services.
  • Assess contractor performance to identify the need for amendments of existing contracts.
  • Prepare and edit contracts between the company and potential clients.
  • Handle breach of contracts in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the main liaison with outside contracting representatives.
  • Develop and implement effective procurement proposals.
  • Research regulations to guarantee contracts are updated and in compliance with laws.
  • Coordinate with clients to guarantee terms of contracts are fulfilled in compliance with the contract terms and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of legal or paralegal experience, preferably working directly with contract law (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal specifications.
  • 3-level Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) preferred
  • Knowledge of current and legally-binding contractual language and terminology
  • Willingness to work virtually or in an office setting
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and suggest solutions for problems, customer complaints, and client concerns
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an impeccable mastery of the English language
  • Clear adherence to company policies and procurement rules and regulations
  • Good organization skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, that considers cultural norms and the client's best interests

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent writing, communication, and customer service skills
  • Be an action-oriented, self-motivator individual who can lead a team, work independently, and has strong organizational and personal skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • BDS in Business related field, or 3 years’ experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and experience

Travel: Minimal travel for corporate support is expected for this position.
