A challenging opportunity is available for an experienced MedSurg/Telemetry RN to provide comprehensive patient care in a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital environment. This contract role calls for a professional with strong clinical skills and a dedication to managing diverse inpatient cases in a dynamic hospital setting.
Location: This position is based in Warner Robins, GA, a vibrant city known for its community spirit and proximity to various recreational amenities. The city offers a range of local dining, shopping, and outdoor activities, making it a comfortable and inviting place to work and live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in 20-36 bed MedSurg/Telemetry units.
- Manage care for patients with common med/surg and telemetry diagnoses, adhering to established nursing protocols.
- Perform advanced clinical skills including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Administer and monitor cardiac drips including insulin and heparin drips; proficiency with all cardiac drips is essential.
- Collaborate with CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Float across Med/Tele units as part of the float pool when required.
- Use EPIC EMR system and specialized monitoring equipment such as Philips monitors and Nova Glucose Stat Strips.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with at least 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong competency with cardiac drips and management of telemetry patients.
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam during orientation.
- Certification in MedSurg nursing is a valuable plus.
- Willingness to float within the Med/Tele units.
Schedule and Duration:
- Contract position with orientation including one day hospital-wide and two days departmental training.
