About the Role:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) plays a crucial role in supporting the occupational therapy team in delivering high-quality care to residents at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. The primary objective of this position is to assist residents in achieving their maximum level of independence and improving their quality of life through therapeutic activities. The OTA will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident's needs. This role requires a compassionate approach, as the OTA will engage with residents to motivate and encourage them throughout their rehabilitation journey. Ultimately, the OTA contributes significantly to the overall well-being and recovery of residents, fostering a supportive and healing environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
• Basic knowledge of geriatric care and common conditions affecting the elderly.

Responsibilities:

• Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic activities for residents.
• Monitor and document residents' progress and responses to therapy, reporting any changes to the supervising therapist.
• Provide direct care and support to residents during therapy sessions, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Educate residents and their families about therapeutic exercises and activities to promote continued progress.
• Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and in good working condition.
