Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized care as an experienced RN in a progressive stepdown/PCU role within an ER holding unit. This travel nursing opportunity supports patients boarded in the emergency room with a focus on cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and critical care diagnoses. Immediate start available for candidates holding an active Georgia or Compact nursing license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years recent Stepdown/PCU nursing experience or 1 year PCU combined with 1+ years in Telemetry, ER, or ICU settings
• Successfully completed at least one previous travel nursing assignment with references from recent contracts
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5 with acuity adjustments
• Competency reading and saving Spacelabs telemetry strips into electronic charts
• Familiarity with ABGs, breathing treatments, and collaboration with Respiratory Therapy who are onsite 24/7
• Adherence to the Navy scrub dress code
• Must comply with a strict 100-mile radius travel restriction (drivers license copy required upon application)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PCU patients in the ER holding area
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, imaging techs, and transport personnel to support seamless patient care
• Monitor and document patients' cardiac telemetry and ensure timely reporting
• Participate in a department-specific orientation during the first week

Schedule:

• Every other weekend shifts required
• Holiday shifts as per department needs
• No call or standby responsibilities
