As a Senior Roadway Project Manager , you’ll play a pivotal role in leading transportation infrastructure projects across Georgia. You’ll manage multidisciplinary teams, guide project delivery, and foster strong client relationships, all while contributing to Jacobs’ mission of delivering sustainable and inclusive solutions. Your work will directly impact the success of our transportation business and help expand our presence in the Georgia , supported by Jacobs’ extensive network of technical experts and national resources.
When you join us, you’ll be part of a team responsible for all aspects of project delivery including the quality of project work performed, client service, utilization of staff, scope and fee development, contract management, invoicing, and project profitability for highway infrastructure projects. We’ll look to you for oversight on planning, directing, and coordinating activities of projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Drawing upon your expertise, you’ll establish work plans, fee estimates, and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project while working with the Manager of Projects and Group Leaders regarding assignment of project personnel. Your team skills will be utilized when you provide subconsultant management as well as staff development. Also, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of projects that meet local (State, County or City) and DOT/AASHTO standards. We’ll look to your expertise when researching and tracking future project opportunities with our Client Account Managers. You’d also initiate and review proposals while also participating in interviews and presentations. Come demonstrate your business acumen when you maintain positive relationships with current and past clients as well as assist in the development and implementation of local ing and business development.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway projects, from concept through construction.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality to ensure successful outcomes.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Oversee design elements including roadway geometry, drainage, site layout, and utility coordination.
- Support business development efforts and help grow Jacobs’ transportation portfolio in Georgia.
- Guide and mentor mid‑level staff to promote team development and technical excellence.
- Ensure compliance with applicable design standards, including AASHTO and GDOT guidelines.
- Promote Jacobs’ culture of inclusion, innovation, and sustainability in every project.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in GA or obtainable in 6 months.
- Substantial professional years of experience in managing transportation infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience tracking project invoicing including billable hours, expenses and project milestones.
- Proven experience with DOTs and local government clients, especially GDOT.
- Willing to do occasional local travel for project-related tasks and meetings.
Ideally, you will also have
- 12+ professional years of experience in managing transportation infrastructure projects.
- Established local client relationships with GDOT.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in project delivery and client engagement.
- Strong proposal and technical writing skills.
- Technical understanding of highway/roadway design standards including horizontal and vertical geometrics, drainage, utilities, traffic signals, signing, lighting, erosion and sediment control practices, stormwater management, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of AASHTO design guidelines and their practical application.
- Proof of performing quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production.
- Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer, plus other relevant design software.
- Active engagement in professional organizations.

Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.
The base salary range for this position is $134,500.00 to $185,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
